The Great Produce Famine of 2012

The Island of Leahy-Dowe, once teeming with produce, is becoming a barren wasteland. Morale is running low.

The supply of fruit, which was once in excess, has been reduced to two citrus fruits, perfect for garnishing drinks but otherwise inedible for human consumption.

The crispers, once overflowing with fresh broccoli, zucchini, cauliflower, brussels sprouts, and more, have revealed their sad bottoms.

There are no onions to be found.

The Queen of the island, who once dined on fine fare like Caramelized Onion Risotto, Brie and Pear Pizza, and Strawberry Balsamic Salad, has been reduced to eating cold mush for breakfast.

The last of the cold mush.

Fortunately, the supply of coffee is still abundant, which seems to be keeping the Leahy-Dowe inhabitants sane.

Only time will tell if they can survive the Great Produce Famine.
